Introducing Page Match, a New Way to Stay Immersed in the Books You Love

Finding dedicated, uninterrupted time to read isn't easy. Between busy schedules, daily commutes, frequent travel, and modern life's constant stream of social media, breaking news, games, and more — even the most committed readers can struggle to stay connected to the stories they love. Even for those who really want to read, it's easy to lose their spot, get distracted, or not discover books in the first place.
Today, Spotify is introducing Page Match, a new feature designed to help readers stay immersed in books, no matter how their day unfolds. Page Match makes it seamless to move between reading and listening, so stories can fit more naturally into everyday life.
Built for how you read
Most reading doesn't happen in one long, quiet stretch. It happens in moments: drinking coffee in the morning, taking the bus or subway, folding clothes, working out at the gym, or finishing a chapter before bed. Oftentimes readers want to listen and stay immersed while their hands and eyes are busy. Other times, they want to slow down and experience the book on the page.
Page Match is built for this reality. By reducing friction between formats, it helps readers keep going without losing their place or breaking their connection to the story.
To help you share this exciting feature with your fans, you can use this template to create a custom marketing asset to let them know Page Match is available for your titles.
How Page Match works
Page Match allows readers to switch freely between physical books and audiobooks on Spotify. Readers can simply scan the page they're on, and Spotify will pinpoint their place in the audiobook so they can start listening right away. When they're ready to return to reading, Page Match helps them find the correct page so they can pick up where they left off.
No guessing. No retracing steps. Just seamless storytelling, across formats.
Helping more readers read more books
While Page Match is available for all Spotify users in markets where audiobooks are available, for eligible Spotify Premium subscribers in those markets, Page Match pairs naturally with the audiobook listening included each month—making it easier to discover new titles without purchasing audiobooks individually. Once listeners are hooked, many may choose to add the physical book to their collection or to read in print when time allows.
By making it effortless to move between listening and reading, Page Match helps stories stay with readers throughout their day—encouraging deeper engagement and more finished books.
New opportunities for authors and publishers
Page Match also opens up meaningful new opportunities for authors and publishers. When readers of a physical book begin listening to its audiobook on Spotify, authors and publishers can earn across formats—supporting broader consumption and discovery.
To further facilitate sales, we are partnering with Bookshop.org to soon integrate purchase links to physical books directly into the Spotify experience in the United States and United Kingdom. This will allow audiobook listeners to easily purchase print editions of the titles they love.
Bookshop.org supports local bookstores by sharing revenue from purchases made on the site.
Reimagining how stories fit into everyday life
Page Match is just one of the many ways Spotify is reimagining the reading experience. This feature was built to help people engage with books more naturally — better suited to the way people actually live, with more flexibility and fewer frustrations.
When reading and listening work together seamlessly, more people can engage with more stories every day — helping authors and publishers build deeper, more lasting connections with their audiences. That means expanding the reach of your stories in the way that only Spotify can.
